How quickly assets need to be accessed.
Family dynamics during grief.
Modern assets, joint ownership, or special circumstances.

Delays in releasing money

Confusion over what applies and what does not

Stress and tension at the worst possible time
These issues are not rare.
And in most cases, they could have been prevented with the right understanding and preparation.
This is where many people realise something important is missing.
Faraid is the law.
A Wasiat is your voice.
Without a voice, your family is left with a formula, not a plan.
Faraid decides distribution.
It does not capture intention or real-life needs.
1️⃣ Your Spouse’s Security in the Family Home
Under faraid, the home becomes part of the estate and is divided among heirs.
This can leave a surviving spouse without full control over the home.
In practice, this may mean:
🟦 Shared ownership with multiple heirs
🟦 Pressure to sell or renegotiate
🟦 Uncertainty during an already difficult time
Faraid defines shares.
It does not guarantee stability.
2️⃣ Provision for Adopted Children and Non-Heirs
Adopted children and certain dependents are not automatic heirs under faraid.
Many parents only realise this too late.
Without a Wasiat:
🟦 These loved ones may receive nothing
🟦 Intentions are not legally recognised
A Wasiat allows care and responsibility to be expressed clearly and properly.
3️⃣ Speed of Asset Access When It Matters Most
Faraid does not mean immediate access to assets.
Without preparation:
🟦 Accounts may be frozen
🟦 Processes take time
🟦 Families wait while expenses continue
Planning helps ensure faraid can be carried out without unnecessary delay.
Faraid provides structure.
A Wasiat provides direction.
Here’s what actually changes when you have both in place.
Faraid is not wrong.
But faraid on its own does not answer every practical question a family faces.
A Wasiat does not replace faraid.
It works alongside it.
Here’s the difference in real terms.
| Area | Faraid (Default) | With a Wasiat |
|---|---|---|
| Who decides | Fixed distribution based on Islamic law | Your instructions, within Islamic limits |
| Speed of distribution | Can be slow due to processes and documentation | Typically faster with preparation |
| Provision for non-heirs | No automatic provision | Can be clearly stated and planned |
| Special instructions | Not included | Legally enforceable |
| Charity intentions | No specific allocation | Can be planned intentionally |
| Family home | May result in shared ownership or sale | Allows strategic planning for spouse |
This is the difference between leaving instructions and leaving assumptions.
Most people only learn this after problems arise.
This class helps you understand it before that happens.
Mdm Khadijah joined our class in 2021, seeking guidance after her father’s passing.
Her father, who had assets across multiple countries, passed away in 2004. The biggest challenge for her large family wasn’t dividing the inheritance—it was obtaining critical documents like the Letter of Administration in Singapore.
For 17 long years, they faced endless bureaucratic delays, leaving them unable to move forward.
If her father had prepared a will (Wasiat) and appointed someone to manage his affairs, the family could have avoided this prolonged struggle and found closure much sooner.
Join Our Exclusive Class and take the first step towards securing your family's future.

Live Physical Class:
The physical class offers the same schedule, including a lunch and solat break, but with an in-person experience. You’ll enjoy complimentary lunch and refreshments, and benefit from more natural interactions, deeper discussions, and face-to-face Q&A with the instructor.
The class is primarily conducted in English, as many of the technical terms related to Islamic inheritance are more accurately explained in that language. However, our speakers are fluent in Malay and can provide explanations in Malay when needed. The Q&A session is typically conducted in both English and Malay to ensure everyone can follow comfortably.
The class is designed to give you everything you need, step by step to draft and plan your own Islamic estate plan, including writing your own Wasiat.
You’ll be equipped to DIY with confidence. At the same time, we understand that some people prefer professional support, so we’ll also share how you can engage our team if you’d like help.
Towards the end of the class, our speaker, Mr. Afiq, will briefly explain the services we provide but the main focus of the class is on guidance and learning, inshaa Allah.
